n Friday October 19, the tribunal presiding over the Berta Cáceres murder trial made the decision to ban the private prosecutors, representing COPINH and Cáceres family, from the trial.

Friday morning, the team of prosecutors had presented another appeal. The appeal was not admitted and the prosecutors did not present themselves at the trial that afternoon. The tribunal therefore declared that the prosecutors had abandoned the trial and can no longer participate.

Now, trial is set to continue at 1:30pm on Monday, October 22 without the private prosecutors.
