ustra Berta Flores López denounces in the ongoing irregularities in the trials against the convicted and accused murderers of daughter, renowned Honduran activist Beta Cáceres. Flores pleads for continued international observance in the endeavor for justice.

The trial against Berta Cáceres’s killers seemed to end in success in November of 2018 when the judges convicted 7 of the 8 of the accused. The judges should give the sentence with in five days of the conviction, but this tribunal has delayed more than five months without explanation.

Meanwhile a second case began against the ninth accused, David Castillo, and has proceeded with notable irregularities. First due process was ignored when the presiding judges approved a change in proceedings by request of the defense attorneys in what could be an attempt to avoid public trial.

Castillo also filed a complaint against the public prosecutors. Flores denounces the complaint as a possible act of intimidation against the case prosecutors.
